Fake News Alert: Centre has NOT said schools will be shut till November 30

Synopsis

According to the Centre, the decision on opening of educational institutions has been left to States/UTs as per the Union home ministry's September order, which is valid till November, 2020

There have been reports doing the rounds on social media which have been claiming that all schools will remain closed till 30th November.

A Home Ministry order dated October 27 has been widely shared across platforms including WhatsApp which says that as per the new guidelines issued by the Centre, all schools will remain closed till November 30.

 

 

The government has now clarified that such reports are fake.

According to the Centre, the decision on opening of educational institutions has been left to States/UTs as per the Union home ministry's September order, which is valid till November, 2020

Calling the reports as misleading, the clarification put out by the Press Information Bureau states that the states and UTs have the flexibility to decide on re-opening of eductional institutions.
