Odisha: Monstrous son rapes mother a day before Mother's Day

Drunk man rapes old mother multiple times. The woman was raped several times at frequent intervals. She narrated her ordeal to the neighbours before passing away.

A 45-year old tribal man on Saturday is said to have raped his widowed septuagenarian mother multiple times in an inebriated state.  The incident happened in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district, which is 400 kilometers away from Bhubaneshwar.

According to the police and several eyewitnesses, the man dragged the old woman inside the house when she was sweeping the verandah. While she managed to flee the first time, she was not lucky the second time when the man dragged her inside again and raped her in frequent intervals in the verandah, on the bed and inside the room.

The tribal woman rushed out and collapsed in front of the house after about half an hour. The neighbours rushed to help her when she narrated her ordeal. She, however, breathed her last when she was being taken to the hospital.
