Belive it or not, but Sunny Hindustani -- winner of the Indian Idol reality contest -- says legendary Sufi singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan appeared in his dreams and helped him win.
Sunny, a teenager from Bhatinda who arrived in Mumbai, and polished boots few years ago to help his mother, ended up taking part in Indian Idol.
His first appearance shocked judges after his high pitch in 'Afreen' song.
In one of the performances, he made Bollywood music composers Ajay-Atul drop their jaws after his rendition of 'Tere Raske Qamar' -- one of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's most popular numbers.
The music director who were yet to overcome from the shocking performance were jolted after he revealed he was untrained, but was helped by late singer who -- he claims -- used to appear in his dreams and taught compositions and tough notes.
The next day after waking up, Sunny says, he used to practice and hear it over the phone to perfect the song
