46-year-old Swarn Singh of Bhikhiwind village died by suicide after jumping from the fifth floor of hospital

Amritsar: A COVID-19 patient died by suicide on Monday after he jumped from the fifth floor of Guru Nanak Dev hospital in Amritsar. He died the moment he crashed on the ground and the incident sent shockwaves across the hospital staff. The police reached the hospital soon. The dead body has been sent to the civil hospital for postmortem. 
The dead has been identified as 46-year-old Swarn Singh of Bhikhiwind village in Tarn Taran district. A few days ago, Swarn Singh was tested positive for COVID-19 after he was admitted in the hospital. On Monday morning, the person died by suicide after he jumped from the fifth floor of the hospital. 
The police are investigating the actual cause of the incident.
