Kolkata: The number of deaths in Kolkata due to COVID-19 has dropped to below 10. In the last 24 hours, 8 people have died of COVID-19 and 563 cases were reported. So far, 1,174 people have died of coronavirus infection in Kolkata. Currently, there are 5,890 active COVID cases in the state. Till date, 29,193 people have recovered and have been discharged from hospital.
The bulletin of the state health department says that the number of COVID-19 cases in a single day in West Bengal has not fallen below the 3,000-mark. In the last 24 hours, the number of COVID-19 patients reported in the state stood at 3274. The number of deaths rose to 56 in a single day.
According to the state health bulletin, the number of active cases in the state has now exceeded 28,000. According to reports, the recovery rate has increased to nearly 78%. In a single day, more than 37,000 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the state.
As per the Sunday state health bulletin, 3,274 people were reported with COVID-19 infection in the last 24 hours. The number was 3,232 on Saturday. In all, the number of COVID-19 cases reported in the state is now 1,38,870. The total number of deaths in the state has risen to 2,794. The number of active COVID-19 cases is 26,069.
At present, the recovery rate in the state has risen to 77.78%. On Saturday it was 77.41%. Out of the 57 deaths, 8 are from Kolkata. 18 deaths were reported in North 24 Parganas. The list also includes three from South 24 Parganas, five from Howrah, six from Hooghly, one from West Burdwan, one from East Burdwan, 2 from East Midnapore, 3 from West Midnapore and one from Nadia. One death was reported in Murshidabad, 3 from Malda, 2 from North Dinajpur, 1 from Jalpaiguri, 1 from Kalimpong, and 1 from Alipurduar. In a single day, a total of 37,149 COVID Tests were conducted in the state.
