Coronavirus: Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada, Dharwad districts to be under lockdown

Synopsis

 After Bengaluru, the Karnataka government has reimposed lockdown in Dakshina Kannada, Dharwad districts on Monday  

Bengaluru: Dakshina Kannada and Dharwad districts will be under lockdown from Wednesday night (July 15) for a week amid rising cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

The decision was announced by Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Kota Sreenivas Poojary, who requested residents to stock-up essentials.

Dakshin Kannada will witness tough measures in the district from July 15-22.

The district has reported 492 COVID-19 cases and 11 deaths in the last three days. A total of 186 coronavirus cases were confirmed Saturday, taking the number of infections in the district so far to 2,034.

Meanwhile, after a surge in coronavirus cases, Dharwad district will be under lockdown from July 15 till July 24.

A complete lockdown will be imposed in the entire district from 10 pm on July 15 to 8 pm on July 24, confirmed district in-charge minister Jagadish Shettar.

He also urged people to not forget about social distancing and maintaining hygiene while at home during lockdown.
