Coronavirus: Haryana transport minister tests positive for COVID-19, day ahead of monsoon session

Synopsis

 Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta and two BJP MLAs have also tested positive for COVID-19  

A day before the Assembly's monsoon session Mool Chand Sharma, Haryana transport minister tested positive for coronavirus.

On August 24, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar and Speaker Gian Chand Gupta were also found infected with the virus.

Chief minister, admitted to Gurgaon's Medanta hospital, is in a stable condition.

According to reports, the Speaker mandated a coronavirus test for all MLAs, Assembly staffers and officials ahead of the session beginning on August 26.

The other leaders who have tested positive for the virus are BJP MLAs Lakshman Napa, Ram Kumar Kashyap and Aseem Goel.

In the Speaker's absence, deputy Speaker Ranbir Gangwa will be presiding over the House proceedings.
