Coronavirus: Haryana to reopen schools, colleges in phased manner

Haryana schools to reopen in July in a phased manner, starting with classes 10-12, followed by classes 6-9 and 1-5
 



Chandigarh: Haryana education minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar said that the schools in the state will be reopening in July and colleges and universities in August.

He said, “We will reopen schools in a phased manner by starting teaching work for Classes 10, 11 and 12 from 1 July. For Classes VI, VII, VIII and IX after 15 days and for the primary classes in August.”

It is also reported that for social distancing, schools will function at 50% strength. In a class of 30 students, 15 will come in the morning and 15 in the evening or alternate days.

He also added that a demo will be conducted in four to five schools to prepare and better the plan of reopening educational institutions.

The pending examination of Class 12 students will be conducted from July 1 to 15. The Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) announced that Class 10 results will be declared on June 8.

Meanwhile, India's tally of coronavirus cases has crossed 2.16 lakh after a record number of 9,304 people tested positive for the deadly virus infection in the last 24 hours. The total cases in the country stood at 2,16,919, including 6,075 deaths, the Union health ministry data shows.
