New Delhi: Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain who was undergoing treatment for COVID-19 has been tested negative for the coronavirus infection on Friday (June 26). He was shifted to a general ward on June 22 after his condition improved and mostly will be discharged today.
The 55-year-old minister's fever has subsided and his oxygen saturation level has increased. Jain was administered plasma therapy for coronavirus at the Max Hospital.
He was first admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital (RGSSH) in Delhi on June 16.
Meanwhile, the government on Friday announced that serological survey will be carried out in national capital Delhi from Saturday, which has seen a spike in the number of COVID-19 cases.
“As per the directives of HM @AmitShah, discussion was done on the serological survey in Delhi, which will be carried out jointly by NCDC and Delhi Government. Survey will begin from June 27, training of all the concerned survey teams was completed yesterday (sic),” Union home ministry spokesperson said on Twitter.
