Hyderabad: A woman, who lost her software job due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, has turned a vegetable seller to support her family.

The 26-year-old techie Unadadi Sharada, a native of Warangal district, is selling vegetables on footpath after she lost her well-paying MNC job. She wakes up at 4 am and buys vegetables from the wholesale market and later sells them near her house.

The techie had completed only three months at the MNC and the lockdown began following the coronavirus pandemic. Her company was not in a position to pay even half her salary and was forced to quit.

But her sheer determination to do something different during the pandemic made her a street vendor. But she is not ashamed.

As per reports, the techie was quoted as saying, “There is nothing to be ashamed of. It was a question of survival. I have been able to pay our house rent, meet all our family needs and we are able to live an honourable life with our hard work."

Sharada, a computer science engineer by education, was raised by her father who was a vegetable vendor too and she knows how it works.
