Coronavirus: 58 deaths reported in single day; infected count crosses 3,000 in West Bengal

58 deaths were reported in a single day in West Bengal. The number of recoveries have decreased comparatively from the number of infected COVID-19 patients. According to statistics, the total number of infected people in the state stood at 1,83,865.


The single day COVID-19 death toll rose from 52 to 58 in the state of West Bengal. The number of recoveries decreased comparatively from the number of infected COVID-19 patients. Although, the State Health Department believes that the situation will change.

According to the State Health Bulletin on Monday (September 7), 58 people died in the last 24 hours. On Sunday (September 6), the number was 52. In all, the death toll in the state stands at 3,620. Out of the 58 deaths in the state, 17 are from Kolkata. 13 people died in North 24 Parganas, 2 from South 24 Parganas, and 8 are from Howrah.

According to statistics, 6 people died in Hooghly, 1 from East Burdwan, 2 from East Medinipur. Besides, 3 people died due to COVID-19 in West Midnapore, 1 from Bankura, 2 from Nadia, 1 from Malda. 1 person died in North Dinajpur, 2 from Alipurduar. In the last 24 hours, 3,077 people have been infected with COVID-19 in the state. On Sunday (September 6), the number was 3,087.

According to the statistics, the total number of infected people in West Bengal is 1,83,865. The number of recoveries in the state has also decreased. 3,021 people recovered in a single day. On Sunday (September 6), it was 3,207. In all, 1,57,29 people have recovered in the state. As a result, the recovery rate in the state has increased to 85.40%.
