Synopsis

After targeting the top Indian bureaucrats, it has now emerged that the Chinese hackers are also spying on country's aircraft carriers - INS Vikrant and INS Vikramaditya.

Since the induction of INS Vikrant, China has been worried about the growing presence of India in the Pacific Ocean.

Back in 2013, Chinese military experts had warned that India with two aircraft carriers will be more capable of patrolling distant oceans, especially towards the South China sea, where both China and US are competing for dominance.

According to a report, Chinese hackers have been mandated with the task of observing the movements of the Indian aircraft carriers, especially in the South China Sea. The hackers are also trying to extract sensitives codes, which will give them information on the preparedness of the Indian Navy, a report in Zee News observed.

Earlier this week, reports have been doing the round that Chinese cyber espionage group Danti is suspected to have been behind the breach of computers in the Union Cabinet secretariat.

According to a Times of India report, officials have confirmed the breach, however, they added that it was "plugged" soon.
