Chinese Foreign Min meets PM Modi

Synopsis

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi today met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

 

The meeting comes amid strained ties between the two nations after China vetoed India’s NSG bid.

 

Yi, who is on a three-day tour of India also met Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj.

 

 

The Indian leadership discussed a host of regional and multilateral issues including the upcoming G-20 summit and BRICS summit.

 

India is hosting the 8th BRICS summit and Chinese President Xi Jinping is expected to attend the meet in Goa.

 

Wang also went to Goa and met Goan Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar yesterday.  Wang enquired about logistics and security issues with the Goan CM.
