
Bengaluru: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of the Bengaluru City Police arrested a 25-year-old hacker on Wednesday, for allegedly breaking into government websites, and for using the dark web to procure from overseas for use and distribution at parties organised in the city.

According to CCB, the accused has been identified as Srikrishna alias Shriki, a resident of Jayanagar.
The Bengaluru police shared the information about the arrest on their social media handles.
Confirming Srikrishna’s arrest, City Police Commissioner Kamal Pant said to the media, "The accused has completed his bachelor’s in computer science at Amsterdam from where he gained expertise in computer programming. Later, he began hacking many websites, and online gaming portals to make illegal gains. He has also confessed hacking into government websites including the e-procurement website run by the Karnataka government".
On finding him using the dark web to procure, possess and distribute drugs as well, CCB sleuths added that a case has been registered at Kempegowda Nagar police station.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act as well.
