BRS questions Revanth Reddy's Sircilla visit over unkept promises

BRS spokesperson Putta Vishnuvardhan Reddy criticised the Telangana govt over unfulfilled promises to weavers ahead of CM Revanth Reddy's visit to Sircilla. Congress, in response, stated the visit is to bring development to the area.

BRS Criticises Govt Ahead of CM's Sircilla Visit

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) spokesperson Putta Vishnuvardhan Reddy on Wednesday criticised the Telangana government ahead of Revanth Reddy's visit to the Sircilla Assembly constituency and questioned the status of promises made to various sections, including youth, women, students, farmers and weavers.

Speaking to ANI, he said, "What happened to the promises that were made to the youth, women, students, farmers and weavers of Telangana?” He further added that “before Revanth Reddy addresses people in Sircilla, he has to first answer why the pending payments of weavers are not yet cleared, why the subsidies are stalled and why there is no push in the textile sector across Telangana.”

Congress Pledges Development, Slams KTR's Record

Meanwhile, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud said that he will visit Sircilla along with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, describing it as an important place for the weaver community.

Speaking to ANI, Goud said, "I am also going there. It is a huge meeting. Sircilla is a place for the weaver community. KTR has represented that constituency for many years, but no development has taken place.” He added, “We wanted to develop that whole area, and the CM and all other ministers are participating. We'll give some development and welfare activities there.”

CM's Itinerary and Planned Development Works

Sircilla is represented by BRS working president K T Rama Rao (KTR). The Chief Minister is scheduled to visit Karimnagar in the afternoon, where he will inaugurate the Integrated District Offices Complex. He will also lay foundation stones for various development works and hold a review meeting with district officials.

Revanth Reddy will later proceed to Sircilla, where Congress is organising a roadshow from Ambedkar Chowrasta to the public meeting venue. The roadshow is expected to cover around four kilometres.

At the venue, the Chief Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for various development works before addressing a public meeting. The works planned in Sircilla are estimated to be worth around Rs 345 crore. The Sircilla visit has acquired political significance as KTR, a prominent BRS leader, has represented the constituency in the Assembly.
