
Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has launched a mass hand washing campaign called 'break the chain' to avoid the spread of COVID-19 virus.
The campaign aims to educate people about the importance of public and personal hygiene.
The Pinarayi Vijayan-led government has installed water taps at public spots such as at the entry and exit gates of railway stations with hand wash bottles as part of the campaign.
Thr campaign also urges people to use hand sanitizers when they are outdoors. Sanitizers have also been made available in all offices.
A total of 126 positive cases of coronavirus have been reported in India so far.
Kerala has reported three new cases of novel coronavirus. With this, the total number of positive cases of Covid-19 reported in the southern state has reached 24.
While two people tested positive in Malappuram, one positive case was detected at Kasaragod district.
According to reports, the total number of people under surveillance are 12,450, of whom 270 are in hospitals and the rest are under home quarantine.
