Bomb scare in Smriti Irani's rally in Malda

Synopsis

An abandoned bag triggered a bomb scare in the Malda town of north Bengal this afternoon. THE Union Human Resources Minister Smriti Irani was supposed to address a rally close by. According NDTV, policemen and a bomb disposal squad have rushed to the Post Office area of Malda where she was supposed to address the rally.The unclaimed bag was just 200 metres away from the HRD minister’s campaign meet.

 

There are no reports of rescheduling the rally. The minister is supposed to address the rally at 2 pm today.Elections in Malda are scheduled to be held on 17 April.
