BJP will resolve all issues after coming to power: Ghosh

Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Kharagpur Sadar assembly constituency, Dilip Ghosh, on Friday stressed that the BJP will resolve all the pertaining issues in the state after coming to power. While attending a 'Cha Pe Charcha' program in Ward No. 21 of the Kharagpur city and interacting with traders and residents in the Golbazar area ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections, he said that there are a lot of issues in the market area, which will be promptly resolved by the BJP after it gains power in West Bengal.

"I visit here often, and these people have a lot of problems. The TMC party does nothing. The municipality doesn't do anything; there is a problem of drainage as well. When the BJP comes to power, all these problems will be resolved... The TMC only fights; that's their politics. They don't work. If you fight, fight for development, but they don't do that," he said.

'No law and order in Bengal'

Earlier in the day, Ghosh asserted that there is no law and order in West Bengal after the Malda hostage crisis and demanded strict punishment for the accused individuals. Speaking to ANI, he said that the judges have been facing obstructions in doing their duty in the State.

"We have been saying from the beginning that there is no legal system in Bengal. Judges are being surrounded and attacked... This keeps happening again and again. When judges are being obstructed and kept from doing their duty, where is the legal system? Where is it in Bengal? The very system and the legal framework are being challenged here. An inquiry should be held, and the accused should be dealt with strict punishment. We are standing at the verge of elections, but how will the elections take place in such a situation?" he said.

Criticising West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, he said, "She is speaking rubbish. It is only because of the neutral and objective elections that she is sitting as the Chief Minister of West Bengal."

The polling for the 294-member Assembly in West Bengal will take place in two phases on April 23 and April 29, while counting of votes is scheduled for May 4. In the last assembly election in the state, held in eight phases in 2021, the Trinamool Congress recorded a landslide victory with 213 seats amid an intense contest with the BJP, which jumped to 77 seats. Congress and Left Front drew a blank in the last state polls. (ANI)
