Bharatiya Janata Party National President Nitin Nabin, on his visit to Warangal, interacted with members of the tribal community on Monday as part of the BJP's outreach programme. During his address, Nabin said that the party is confident of forming a "double-engine government" in Telangana in the next Assembly elections, asserting that the BJP works with a focus on development and public service.
Addressing a public meeting in Warangal, Nabin said the party continues to strengthen its organisational base at the grassroots level. "We will bring a double-engine government in the next Assembly elections," he said, urging booth-level workers to intensify outreach.
"I appeal to our booth presidents to work at the ground level. BJP workers work 24/7 for the party," he added.
Recalling the formation of the state, he said senior leaders, including late Sushma Swaraj, had played an important role in supporting the demand for Telangana statehood. "I recall how our leaders, including Sushma Swaraj, fought hard for the formation of Telangana State," he said.
Taking a sharp political attack on the Congress, Nabin alleged that the party has failed to deliver on its promises. "The Congress government has completed two years but has not implemented its promises, and they are not speaking about it," he said.
He also alleged that the Telangana Congress government "works only for Delhi leaders" and not for the people of the state.
Targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, he said, "Rahul Gandhi is a part-time politician; they always think about their family."
He further accused the Congress of disrespecting former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao, adding that the BJP government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi honoured him by conferring the Bharat Ratna. "Congress party leaders did not respect P.V. Narasimha Rao, who was from Telangana. Our BJP, under the leadership of Narendra Modi, conferred the Bharat Ratna on him," he said.
Highlighting welfare measures, Nabin said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi provided free vaccines during the COVID period."
He further accused the Congress of indulging in criticism of India at global platforms, saying, "The Congress party tried to criticise our country at the recent AI Summit and Global Summit."
Calling for unity among party workers, he said the BJP does not believe in "vote-bank politics" but focuses on national development. "New parties are like cockroaches, and these parties are trying to break our country into pieces," he added. (ANI)
