The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) recently said that it intends to destroy the enormous water tanks seen at different locations across Bengaluru due to "irrelevance." According to BWSSB, the city now has 51 overhead tanks, 19 of which have been recognised as superfluous. These would be demolished shortly.

Every month, Bengaluru experiences water supply difficulties. According to a BWSSB news statement, the city had a water supply outage from 6 a.m. on August 31 to 2 a.m. on September 1, owing to maintenance work. On June 30 and July 1, some sections of Bengaluru experienced water supply disruptions. This occurred due to BWSSB maintenance work to patch a leak in one of their water pipelines.
