It seems the sudden fame, success, and responsibility on aged Kanta Prasad was too heavy to carry as he failed to run his new restaurant with a donation. Prasad has now shut his Dhaba and returned to his Dhaba business and says he is happy to have saved Rs 20 lakh for the future with his decision.
Kanta Prasad opened his new restaurant in Delhi last year after a viral video showing him and his wife struggling and funds poured in, now was undergoing a monthly loss of about Rs 1 lakh, whereas his earnings are only Rs 35,000 to 40,000.
Hence he decided he is best suited to run a roadside eatery only and feels satisfied with his decision of shutting down.
"I am happy running my old eatery as the customer footfall is good here” the septuagenarian was quoted as saying.
Prasad added that he will run the Dhaba business as long as he is alive. "As long as I am alive, I will manage to run it. The day I see the business going down, I will shut it." Prasad was quoted as saying.
The aged dhaba owner feels secure as the couple have managed to save Rs 20 lakh from the massive donation they got after regular visitor and YouTuber Gaurav Wasan posted the sad condition and struggle of Prasad on social media. However, the relationship between Prasad and Wasan became sour as Prasad accused Wasan of swindling the donation.
