Amarinder Singh cooks up sumptuous meal for Punjab Olympians; here’s mouth-watering menu

Synopsis

The Punjab Chief Minister will be hosting the Tokyo Olympic medal winners at his farmhouse — Mohinder Bagh — in Mohali as he had promised to cook for them.

Punjab athletes who won medals at Tokyo Olympics including Gold Medalist Neeraj Chopra will be in for a sumptuous treat as Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, will don the chef’s hat, just for a day.

The Punjab chief minister will be hosting the Tokyo Olympic medal winners at his farmhouse — Mohinder Bagh — in Mohali as he had promised to cook for them.

From Patiala cuisine, to lamb, chicken, to pulao and Zarda rice, the spread—as expected —is fit for kings.

"From Patiala cuisine to pulao, lamb, chicken, aloo & Zarda rice, CM @capt_amarinder will prepare each of these delicacies himself to keep his promise to Punjab Olympic medal winners (& Neeraj Chopra) at the dinner he's hosting for them tomorrow!" the CM's media advisor, Raveen Thukral, said in a tweet on Tuesday.

State Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu who is at loggerheads with the CM, is not an invitee however, his close aide and PPCC general secretary in-charge Pargat Singh, a former hockey Olympian, has been invited for the dinner.

All eyes are on Pargat to see if he attends the event. Amid the ongoing factional war in the Congress, Amarinder has been of late meeting MLAs in groups and trying to get all those who rebelled against him, on his side.

About 30-40 Olympians from Punjab and Olympic gold medal winning javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra are expected to grace the occasion.

CM Captain Amarinder Singh had earlier rewarded Olympic medal winners and participants with cash awards worth over Rs 32 crore. While gold medallist Neeraj Chopra could not attend the event, 11 players from the state, who were part of the Indian hockey team that won the bronze medal after 41 years, were given a cash reward of 2.51 crore each.
