
The All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSSC) on Wednesday (January 20) called for a sit-in in Kolkata to demand the repeal of the Agriculture Act.
“Save agriculture, save farmers, save the country”, is the slogan of the sit-in program that will be chanted in Kolkata today. The program is organised to demand the repeal of the Centre’s three agriculture bill.

By no means is the Modi government in favor of repealing the agricultural law. As the days go by, farmers from other parts of the country are coming forward to support the agitating farmers. In such a situation, a sit-in program has been organized In Kolkata at 11 am on Wednesday to demand the repeal of the Central Agriculture Act.
Farmers and field laborers including Ashok Dhawal, Yogendra Yadav will address the West Bengal Provincial Farmers' Meeting.

On the other hand, the Trinamool Congress and the Congress have already demanded the repeal of the Agriculture Act. In December, however, when five opposition leaders including Rahul Gandhi of the Congress, met the President and handed over a memorandum, the Trinamool Congress leadership distanced itself and did not join hands with the opposition leaders.
