Synopsis

MT Olivia, from Congo, reportedly got into an argument with three people at Kishangarh locality in south Delhi's Vasant Kunj area. Later a mob attacked him at around 11.45 pm. The 23-year-old Congolese man tried to escape but was chased down by the mob, which attacked him with stones, according to the police.

He was later rescued by another group of men and rushed to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The police spoke to eye-witnesses but nobody has yet come forward to identify the attackers.

The police have registered a murder case and are checking CCTV footage from the area to identify the attackers. The police have not ruled a racist motive in the attack. The investigations also focused on robbery, additional deputy commissioner of police (South), Nupur Prasad told the local news channels.
