Sushmita Dev, who snubbed the Congress this morning, joined the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Monday afternoon.
She was welcomed by party leaders Abhishek Banerjee and Derek O'Brien in Kolkata.

Sushmita updated her Twitter bio which described her as a former member of the Congress before submitting her resignation letter to Sonia Gandhi.
She had not mentioned any reason for her decision to leave the party.
"I cherish my three-decade-long association with the Indian National Congress. May I take this opportunity to thank the party, all its leaders, members and workers who have been my memorable journey. Madam, I thank you personally for your guidance and the opportunities you gave me. I value the enriching experience,” Sushmita Dev said in her letter to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.
