New Delhi: In a big boost for the party’s prospects in the upcoming Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal was unanimously elected as the party’s national convener for the third time during the National Executive meeting on Sunday (September 12).

It is pertinent to note that in April 2016, Kejriwal was elected as the National Convenor of the party for the second time. But due to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, Kejriwal’s tenure was extended till 2020. The meeting of the council was then postponed in 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
