A woman in New Delhi and a man in Hubballi were shot dead by bike borne assailants in two separate incidents that occurred on Saturday
New Delhi/ Hubballi: In two separate incidents that occurred on Saturday (September 21), a man and a woman were shot dead by bike borne assailants.
On Saturday morning, a 59-year-old woman was shot dead by unidentified bike-borne assailants near a private hospital in East Delhi's Patparganj area, police stated.
The deceased, Usha Sahni, was reportedly employed as a chartered accountant in an insurance company.
Delhi Police stated that the woman was waiting for her husband, who had gone to a temple near the hospital when she was shot dead by the assailants, who fled the scene.
Usha’s husband with the help of locals shifted her body, which lay in a pool of blood, to the nearby hospital, where she was declared brought dead by doctors.
According to the family, Usha would usually take her husband for dialysis. On Saturday morning, she left with her husband for the hospital. However, her husband went to offer prayers at the temple while she waited for him in the car.
Given that no loot took place, police, after reviewing the CCTV footage of the incident, suspect that it is a case of mutual enmity.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
In another incident that occurred on Saturday evening, a man was allegedly shot dead by bike-borne assailants in Manjunath Nagar area in Hubballi, Karnataka.
The deceased has been identified as Parvesh Singh, a native of Bihar's Vaishali district.
“As per the information we got, Singh was shot by two or three bike-borne assailants. He died on the spot," commissioner of police R Dilip said while speaking to media.
The deceased used to work for a private mobile company and was in charge of installing mobile towers, the commissioner said.
Singh lived in a rented house in Manjunath Nagar with his wife and a three-year-old child.
"A probe is underway to nab the accused," the Commissioner added.
