A 19-year-old Bengaluru student, Kiran Borannanavar, met with a horrific accident on his way home after writing the CET examinations on Tuesday evening and succumbed to the injuries. He rammed into a stationary truck, the driver of which had not switched on the parking lights.
Bengaluru: A 19-year-old Bengaluru student Kiran Borannanavar was killed in an unfortunate accident as his scooter crashed into a parked truck at Neraluru village on Hosur Main Road, while two of his cousins, Bhumika and Akash, were severely injured.
Kiran Borannanavar, hailing from Koppal, Karnataka, stayed with his uncle Shivappa Borannanavar, his cousin Bhumika S (18) and her younger brother Akash in Manchanahalli. Kiran and Bhumika were studying in Guddatti Swamy Vivekananda College.
On Tuesday morning , Kiran Borannanavar (19), with two of his cousins, Bhumika S and Akash S, parked his scooter at Chandapura Circle and took a bus to Koramangala. After attending the CET examination, they reached Chandapura at around 6:45 pm and were to return home. Kiran, who was riding, didn’t notice a stationary truck near Neraluru village on Hosur Main Road and rammed into it. He was rushed to a nearby hospital due to severe head injuries. He was declared ‘brought dead’ by the hospital.
The police have registered a case against the truck driver and have seized both the vehicles. The police say that the truck driver failed to switch on the parking lights, which may have been the reason behind the accident.
