In the violent confrontation, Colonel Santosh Babu and 20 Indian Army perished. China, which was dealt a bloody nose, is yet to reveal the actual casualties. The Chinese PLA, surprised by the Indian Army's response and wary of backlash back home, has so far refused to disengage from friction points despite over 11 rounds of talks between the two countries.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar took to Twitter to salute the grit and determination of Col Santosh Babu of the 16 Bihar Regiment and the brave men who died defending India's sovereignty.

Highlighting Army's 'India First' commitment, the Rajya Sabha MP appealed to political parties to set aside difference and show India's solidarity and resolve to the world, especially to the country's enemies. He also appealed to all Indians to support the men and women of the armed forces strongly, unitedly, and patiently.
