
New Delhi: In an effort to further enhance the military ties between the forces, Indian Army chief Gen MM Naravane is undertaking a four-day tour to the United Kingdom and Italy from July 5.
In his first leg of the trip, Gen Naravane will be visiting to the UK, wherein he will be meeting with their Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of General Staff, the Minister of State for Defence among others.Bound by strong historical ties, India and the UK share a modern partnership.
In 2004, The bilateral relationship was upgraded to a strategic partnership.
The Army chief will embark on his Italy tour on July 7, wherein he will inaugurate an Indian Army Memorial in Cassino city.
During Second World War, more than 5,000 Indian troops made supreme sacrifice in the Battle of Monte, fighting against the fascist forces.
During his stay in Italy, he will meet with the Chief of Defence Staff and Chief of Staff of the Italian Army.
