The TMC wrote in the letter, “We request you to immediately intervene and direct necessary steps to be taken by police.”
Earlier, the TMC has approached the Election Commission seeking rejection of the nomination of Suvendu Adhikari alleging that Adhikari has submitted false details of his residence.
The TMC has claimed that Suvendu Adhikari is neither a permanent resident of the constituency nor has he resided in the area in the last six months.
According to the TMC, the BLO of the areas has submitted in his report that Adhikari does not reside at the given address.
Elections to the 294-member state Assembly will be held in eight phases starting from March 27 with the final round of voting taking place on April 29. The counting of votes will take place on May 2.
