The TMC also claimed that no BJP leader came to the mishap site. Meanwhile, BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya responded to Mamata Banerjee’s allegations saying that she has always played the blame game.

Malviya said, “It is very unfortunate that CM Mamata Banerjee, instead of ensuring that fire is brought under control, she is politicising the incident. The fact is that every time something like this happens she has very conveniently tried to shift the blame elsewhere. She has done this all throughout her tenure.”

“WB needs a proactive disaster management policy, equip local bodies with fire fighting equipment and put in appropriate protocols. It also needs a transparent and efficient fire fighting policy, with mechanism to certify buildings for fire preparedness. Pishi has failed Bengal!” he tweeted.
