Railway Minister Piyush Goel led the delegation. Member of the delegation MP Swapan Dasgupta said, “The footage of the Chief Minister being injured in Nandigram should be with the commission. Once a candidate files nomination, the poll panel maintains a visual record of his public engagements.”

The BJP also demanded that special observers be appointed for the Nandigram Assembly seat from where Banerjee is contesting against her protege-turned-adversary the BJP's Suvendu Adhikari.

Besides, the BJP has complained to the commission that TMC leaders are sitting as administrators in various municipalities in the state. They are not allowing the BJP to put up banners and hoardings for propaganda. As a result, the TMC leaders are carrying out unilateral propaganda in the urban areas.
