BJP calls emergency meeting with top party leaders for ongoing dispute over candidate list

During the visit of Home Minister Amit Shah, a 'civil war' broke out between the BJP leaders and workers over the selection of candidates. The Hastings Electoral Office witnessed a massive protest by party workers in Kolkata on Monday (March 15).

On Monday, Amit Shah was supposed to hold a meeting in Jhargram but due to some mechanical problems in his helicopter, he couldn’t attend the meeting personally but addressed virtually.

Huge protests started outside the BJP office in Kolkata as the party announced its second list of candidates. Workers from at least three assembly constituencies staged protests from afternoon onwards in Hasting. BJP leaders Mukul Roy, Shiv Prakash, Arjun Singh and Sabyasachi Dutta had to face protests.
