Canada's Justin Trudeau dials PM Modi for Covid-19 vaccine

Over a telephone conversation, Justin Trudeau got an assurance from Prime Minister Modi that India would do its best to assist Canada in its vaccination efforts like it has for other nations.

Days after his government faced flak for not reaching out to India for Covid-19 vaccines, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reached out to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.Over a telephone conversation, Justin Trudeau got an assurance from Prime Minister Modi that India would do its best to assist Canada in its vaccination efforts like it has for other nations.In a statement, the Prime Minister's Office quoted Trudeau as saying that India's tremendous pharmaceutical capacity would significantly assist the world in overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic.

Trudeau also acknowledged Prime Minister Modi's leadership in sharing this tremendous capacity with the world.The two leaders also discussed global issues following which they agreed to collaborate closely to take on challenges that would emerge in the post-Coronavirus era.
