Coronavirus: India’s recovery rate surges to 97.28%, active caseload currently at 432,041

India has reported 41,806 new Covid-19 cases, 39,130 recoveries and 581 deaths in the last 24 hours. 

India reported 41,806 fresh cases and 581 more fatalities due to the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the last 24 hours, taking the caseload and death toll to 30,987,880 and 411,989 respectively, according to the Union health ministry’s update on Thursday.

With this, India's active caseload now stands at 4,32,041 till 8 am on Thursday, the health ministry said. An increase of 2,095 cases has been recorded in the active Covid-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 3,01,43,850, while the case fatality rate has increased to 1.39 per cent, the data stated.

The active cases comprise 1.39% of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 97.28%, the data updated at 8 am showed.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said on Thursday that a total of 438,011,958 samples have been tested for the Covid-19 disease so far of which 1,943,488 were tested in the last 24 hours.

In terms of vaccination, India has administered a total of 34,97,058 doses in the last 24 hours. With this, the total tally of doses administered touched 39,13,40,491.
