Coronavirus: India logs 14,306 new COVID-19 cases as active cases tally declines to lowest in 239 days

India added 14,306 new Covid-19 cases and 443 deaths, according to the Union health ministry data updated on Monday.

India on Monday logged 14,306 new Covid-19 cases and 443 deaths in the last 24 hours, pushing the total caseload to 3,41,89,774 and death toll to 4,54,712, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
 

The total active caseload in the country stands at 1,67,695, which is the lowest in 239 days. The active cases account for less than 1 per cent of total cases, currently at 0.49 per cent, which is the lowest since March 2020.

A total of 18,762 recoveries in the last 24 hours, took the recoveries tally to 3,35,67,367, the ministry said. The recovery rate currently stands at 98.18 per cent, highest since March 2020.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) data, the country has so far conducted over 60.07 crore tests for Covid-19.
 

Under the nationwide vaccination drive, India administered 2,30,720 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, and hence India's Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 102.27 crore (1,02,27,12,895) so far.
