Coronavirus: India logs 12,885 new cases, 8% higher than yesterday; active caseload falls below 1.5 lakh

India's Covid-19 active cases have also declined to 1,48,579 -- the lowest in 252 days. And the total recoveries have jumped to 3,37,12,794.
 

India on Thursday witnessed an 8 per cent rise in its daily Covid-19 graph as the country clocked 12,885 new cases, with the Covid-19 tally reaching 3,43,21,025. Meanwhile, 461 fatalities pushed the death toll to 4,59,652, according to the Union Health Ministry data.

The number of active cases reduced to 1,48,579, the lowest in 252 days, with a decline of 2,630 cases in a span of 24 hours. India's active cases comprise less than 1 per cent standing at 0.43 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020. While the national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.23 per cent, the highest since March 2020 as the country’s recoveries stands at 3,37,12,794.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) data, the country has conducted 61.23 crore Covid tests, so far. Till now, the cumulative doses administered in the country has exceeded 107.63 crore, under the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive.
