ISL 2020-21 playoffs: ATK Mohun Bagan sets final date after edging past NorthEast United FC

This was ATK Mohun Bagan's 13th win of the 2020-21 Indian Super League, while with four draws and losses, it had finished second in the table. Meanwhile, NorthEast United suffered its fourth loss of the season, as with eight wins and nine draws, it had ended at third.

In what turned out to be a thrilling encounter, ATK Mohun Bagan managed to edge past NorthEast United FC 2-1 in the second leg of the semis of the Indian Super League 2020-21 at the Fatorda Stadium in Bengaluru on Tuesday. With this win, ATKMB has set a date in the final against Mumbai City FC.

The opening half was hugely an attacking one, with saw 16 attacks until the 36th minute, including twin saves from each goalkeeper, while ATKMB's Javi Hernández hit the bar post in the second minute. Nonetheless, in the 37th minute, David Williams put ATKMB ahead with his right foot to the top-centre from a similar position, thanks to Roy Krishna's assist. The second half saw a similar approach from both sides, with ten attempts being made until the 65th minute, as NEU's Suhair Vadakkepeedika hit the post in the 46th, followed by three saves. Nevertheless, in the 67th minute, Manvir Singh doubled it for ATKMB with his left foot to the top-left from the centre, following yet another assist from Krishna.
