Kerala Blasters FC was involved in an intense, but nail-biting encounter against Jamshedpur FC. The former edged past 3-2 during the Indian Super League (ISL) 2020-21, at the Tilak Maidan in Goa on Sunday. With this win, the Blaster has remained 10th in the table, while Jamshedpur stays put at fifth.
The opening half saw six attempts within 19 minutes, including a save from Jamshedpur goalkeeper, Rehenesh TP. Nonetheless, Costa Nhamoinesu put the Blasters ahead a couple of minutes later, with a close-range header to the bottom-right, following a set-piece cross assist from Facundo Pereyra.
It was followed by six further attempts until the 32nd minute, including a couple of saves from Blasters keeper, Albino Gomes. Meanwhile, Nerijus Valskis levelled it for Jamshedpur, with his right-footed free-kick, to the bottom-left, just three minutes later. Another saved followed from Rehenesh, as the teams had the deadlock in place at half-time.
The second half saw seven attacks from both until the 64th minute. Meanwhile, two minutes later, Lalruatthara received his second yellow card for the evening, as he was sent off.
Three more attacks followed until the 78th minute, including a save from Rehenesh. The very minute also saw Jordan Murray restore the lead for the Blasters, with his right-footed strike to the centre from a similar position.
Three minutes later, Murray doubled it, this time with his left foot, into the bottom-right from the centre, in a sole attempt. Nonetheless, Nerijus Valskis scored the second for Jamshedpur, two minutes later, with a close-range header to the bottom-left, following an assist from Mobashir Rahman's cross.
Three more attacks ensured, including another save from Rehenesh. Nonetheless, the Blasters just managed to hold on, as it stole the three points from Jamshedpur.
