ISL 2020-21: Mumbai City FC comfortably trumps Hyderabad FC to consolidate top spot

This was Mumbai City FC's fifth win of the season, along with a draw and a loss, as it continues to stay on the top of the table. Meanwhile, Hyderabad FC suffered its first loss of the season in six games, along with two wins and three draws, as it stays in sixth.

Table-topper Mumbai City FC showed no signs of slowing down, as it rode to a comfortable 2-0 win over Hyderabad FC in the ongoing Indian Super League (ISL), at the Tilak Maidan in Goa, on Sunday. The success consolidated Mumbai's spot on top, while Hyderabad, who suffered its opening loss of the season, stays in sixth.
The match began on a slow note, as it was not before the 30th minute that the opening attack of the game came from Hyderabad. With three attacks in the following six minutes, it was the very next minute when Mumbai's Vignesh Dakshinamurthy, who handed the visitor the lead, with his left-footed strike to the top-right corner from the centre, following an assist from Bipin Singh.

Thereon, Hyderabad came up with only an attack in the half. However, it failed to find the net, as Mumbai went into the half-time break with the lead.
The second half was no similar, as Hyderabad came up with an attack in the 57th minute. However, the very next minute saw Adam Le Fondre double Mumbai's lead, with his right-footed shot to the bottom-left corner from the centre, as Rowllin Borges assisted him.
Six more attacks ensured thereon, while Mumbai could have tripled its lead in the 65th minute, only to be saved by Hyderabad goalkeeper, Subrata Paul. However, the visitor already had a healthy lead, as it walked away with the three points at the full-time whistle.
