The opening half saw the first attack from NEU in the fifth minute. The second attempt in the very minute witnessed Deshorn Brown shoot with his right foot to the bottom-left from the centre, following an assist from Nim Dorjee Tamang through a cross, as NEU was ahead.

Just four minutes later, Brown converted a close-range attempt through his right foot to the top-right, thanks to Luís Machado's assist from a corner, as NEU doubled its lead.
