In what turned out to be a completely one-sided encounter, ATK Mohun Bagan annihilated Odisha FC 4-1 during the 2020-21 Indian Super League at the GMC Stadium in Goa, on Saturday. With this win, ATKMB stays on the second place, while Odisha FC remains at the rock bottom.
The opening attack of the game in the 10th minute from ATKMB saw the side take the lead. Manvir Singh tapped the ball into the left corner from the right flank through his left foot, thanks to Roy Krishna's assistance.
Eleven more attacks ensued thereon, including a save from Odisha goalkeeper, Arshdeep Singh. At the same time, Odisha's Paul Ramfangzauva hit the post in the 45th minute.
Nonetheless, Cole Alexander levelled just at the stroke of half-time, as his right-footed strike to the top right from outside the box did the job. It turned out to be the final attack of the half, as the deadlock remained in place.
The second half saw the first attack in the 50th minute from ATKMB. Meanwhile, three minutes later, Manvir restored his side's lead with his right foot to the bottom right, from the right flank, thanks to Krishna's assistance again.
Seven more attempts were made thereon. Meanwhile, in the 83rd minute, ATKMB earned a penalty, as Krishna swiftly converted it, while he followed it up with a winner, just three minutes later, as ATKMB walked away with the three points with the referee blowing the full-time whistle.
