West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee allocates Rs 200 crore for Netaji monument in state budget

 While presenting the state budget on Friday (February 5), West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee allocated Rs 100 crore to set up an Azad Hind Monument in New Town to honour Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 125th birth anniversary.
 

Mamata Banerjee also proposed to set aside Rs 5 crore for a Netaji State Planning Commission and Rs 10 crore to raise a Netaji battalion in the Kolkata Armed Police.

After allocating the money for Azad Hind Monument, the CM said, “No befitting monument has ever been created in our state by any government in honour of the great leader Netaji. I am proposing to construct an Azad Hind monument in New Town on behalf of the people of Bengal.”

"To commemorate Netaji's Jai Hind slogan, we are proposing to construct one Jai Hind Bhawan in each district," she added.

The Jai Hind Bhawans will inspire younger generation in many ways. It will help to build their life based on the inspiration from Netaji's life.

Mamata Banerjee also said that Subhash Chandra Bose had proposed the national planning commission in the country which was now replaced by NITI Aayog.
