A surface circulation over Odisha has intensified into a low-pressure system, with winds reaching around 40 km/h. The system is influencing weather conditions across Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Rain has already been reported in northern Telangana and areas bordering Odisha. The IMD has warned of rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 km/h.

Heavy Rain Alert for North Telangana

Heavy rainfall is likely in northern and eastern districts of Telangana, including Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally and Mulugu. Thunderstorms are also possible in Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Karimnagar, Rajanna Sircilla, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Warangal and Hanamkonda.

Hyderabad Weather to Turn Cooler

In Hyderabad and neighbouring districts, skies are expected to remain cloudy throughout Sunday, with light to moderate rain likely during the afternoon or evening. The maximum temperature is expected to remain around 29°C to 30°C, while the minimum could be around 23°C. Rainfall is likely to bring relief from the recent heat.

Rain, Gusty Winds Forecast in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh is likely to experience unsettled weather from August 23 to 26. North Coastal districts, including Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam, are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall. Rayalaseema and South Coastal Andhra may remain hot and humid, although places such as Tirupati could see thundershowers. Gusty winds of 40-50 km/h are also possible.

Meanwhile, global weather activity remains intense, with several cyclonic systems reported over the Pacific Ocean. The low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal is expected to move towards Bengal after passing over parts of Odisha, including Bhubaneswar and Balasore. Authorities have advised people to take precautions and stay away from trees and electric wires during thunderstorms and lightning.
