Basavaraj Bommai, who replaces BS Yediyurappa as the chief minister of Karnataka, is the son of the late SR Bommai. SR Bommai was the eleventh chief minister of Karnataka. Basavaraj joins the league of sons and daughters taking over the post once held by their fathers.
Tamil Nadu
MK Stalin is currently the chief minister of Tamil Nadu. Stalin has been elected to the post in the 2021 assembly elections. Stalin is the son of the late Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam supremo M Karunanidhi. Karunanidhi was the chief minister of the state five times.
Andhra Pradesh
Jagan Mohan Reddy was sworn in as Andhra Pradesh chief minister on May 30, 2019. Jagan is the son of the late BS Rajasekhar Reddy, one of the most successful chief ministers of the state. Rajasekhar Reddy served as a chief minister twice in 2004 and 2009.
Odisha
Biju Janata Dal's Naveen Patnaik is the chief minister of Odisha. He is currently in his fifth term on the post. His father, Biju Patnaik, served twice as the chief minister of the state.
