Rajib Banerjee along with 5 TMC leaders to meet Amit Shah in Delhi today

Union Home Minister Amit Shah cancelled his 2-day trip to West Bengal in view of the blast outside Israel Embassy in New Delhi. Meanwhile, Former Forest Minister Rajib Banerjee will fly to Delhi on Saturday (January 30) to meet Amit Shah.
 

Two days after quitting the Trinamool Congress, Rajib Banerjee is likely to join the BJP on Sunday in presence of Home Minister Amit Shah.

Rajib Banerjee, a former minister in Mamata Banerjee cabinet, Friday resigned from the Trinamool Congress and the West Bengal Assembly. Along with Rajib Banerjee, five other TMC leaders will go to Delhi to meet the Union Home Minister.

According to sources, Bali MLA Baishali Dalmiya who was expelled from the TMC a few days ago, former Howrah mayor Rathin Chakraborty, Uttarpara MLA Prabir Ghoshal, Ranaghat MLA, and former Purpradhan Parthasarathy Chattopadhyay is expected to go to Delhi with Rajib Banerjee.

A BJP source said that Amit Shah has also sent a special chartered plane to West Bengal for the five TMC leaders. The five dissonant TMC leaders will fly to Delhi at 4 pm on Saturday. They will hold a meeting with Amit Shah and JP Nadda in the evening.

The 5 TMC leaders are expected to join the BJP today. After joining the BJP, they will return to Kolkata and attend the party’s meeting at Dumurjola Stadium in Howrah. It is learned that only Smriti Irani will be present at the Dumurjola function as the BJP's senior central leader.
