A monument will be built at Kolkata in the name of Azad Hind Fauj: Mamata announces on Netaji’s birthday

On the occasion of Netaji's 125th birth anniversary, several programmes will be held in Kolkata today (January 23). A cultural programme "Amra Nuton Jouboneri Doot", based on the theme of Subhash Chandra Bose, will also be held.
 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to West Bengal on Saturday (January 23) afternoon for 'Parakram Diwas' celebrations to commemorate Subhas Chandra Bose's 125th birth anniversary. He will attend a function at the National Library.

PM Modi will then inaugurate two galleries at the Victoria Memorial. Mamata Banerjee has also been invited to the event. The Prime Minister will also visit Netaji Bhavan.

Taking to Twitter, PM Modi wrote on Saturday morning, “Dear sisters and brothers of West Bengal, I am honoured to be in your midst, that too on the auspicious day of Parakram Divas. During the programmes in Kolkata, we will pay tributes to the brave Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.”

On the other hand, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee will hold a grand parade in Kolkata. She has requested people from all sections of the society and Indians who live abroad to blow a conch shell or do something similar at 12.15 pm, the time of Netaji's birth, on January 23.

On the morning of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's birthday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made several tweets. She wrote, “Homage to Deshnayak Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 125th birthday. He was a true leader & strongly believed in unity of all people.”

“We are celebrating this day as #DeshNayakDibas. GoWB has also set up a committee to conduct year-long celebrations till January 23, 2022, “Ms Banerjee stated.

“A monument, named after Azad Hind Fauj, will be built at Rajarhat. A university named after Netaji is also being set up which shall be funded entirely by the state, and will have tie-ups with foreign universities. #DeshNayakDibas,” the Chief Minister mentioned.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also shared on social media the colorful procession that was organized on the occasion of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's birthday. At the same time, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee should be declared a national holiday.
