For his indomitable spirit and bravery during the violent confrontation with the Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley on June 15 last year, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday felicitated Indian Army officer Captain Soiba Maningba Rangnamei, who hails from Senapati district of the state.During the brawl, Capt Rangnamei led his soldiers bravely.Singh felicitated the officer at his official residence in Imphal and said, "It is an honour to meet Captain Soiba Maningba Rangnamei from Senapati, Manipur of 16 Bihar, leading his men in Galwan during the confrontation against the Chinese PLA. We are always indebted to soldiers like him who is leading in the front for the safety and security of the nation."

In the midst of the disengagement process at the Pangong Tso areas in the eastern Ladakh, Chinese propaganda machinery released a video, showing Indian troops as aggressors.But the fact is, Indian soldiers were at the spot only to verify the disengagement process as agreed between them during a local-level commanders meeting. In that video, Capt Rangnamei is seen leading his men.In the clash, 20 Indian troops were killed while China announced that four of his soldiers were killed. The acceptance comes after 8 months of the incident that too after a Russian wire agency reported that 45 Chinese soldiers were killed in a confrontation with Indian troops.

In a number of interviews to channels, Northern Command chief Lt Gen YK Joshi said that 60 stretchers were seen carrying Chinese soldiers.Last week, the two forces moved back their troops and equipment to the respective permanent bases and maintained the April 2020 status quo in the Pangong Tso areas.
