Salman Khan's ex-love Aishwarya Rai's mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan had something to comment on Salman Khan's 1998 blackbuck poaching case verdict in 2018.

In 2018 Salman Khan was sentenced to a 5-year jail term by Jodhpur trial court in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. Other accused Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam Kothari and Sonali Bendre in the case were acquitted.

After the first verdict, Salman's alleged ex-love interest actress Aishwarya Rai's mother-in-law, Jaya Bachchan reacted by saying, "I feel bad. Salman Khan should be given relief. He has done a lot of humanitarian work."

Later, Jaya was trolled immediately on social media with comments like, "If tomorrow he kills Jaya's family member, he should be given relief too. Shame on Jaya, a politician for a nonsensical statement."

But later, Salman was granted bail by the Sessions Court after spending two nights in Jodhpur jail. He eventually walked out of prison to rousing greetings by fans.
